14This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.15And if we know that he hears us-whatever we ask-we know that we have what we asked of him.
In light of these verses how does this shape our prayer? Do we normally pray to God asking for things or do we pray asking for God's will to be done?
If we do pray for God's will do we really mean it?
My prayers seem to be very selfish and then I say God let your will be done in this situation but do I really mean it?
Should I prayers be more for a heart of understanding? God I don't know why this happened but God let me understand and love through this situation.
I dont know if this makes any sense at all but I have been really convicted by this passage just because at times I get frustrated that my prayers in "my mind" seem in vain because nothing ever happens. I pray for patience because I know God's timing is most of the time not my timing but its difficult.
Love you all.
