The Beginning

I have now been involved in "full time ministry" for about a month and a half and its only the beginning. To put into words what I have learned over the last month and a half would be a post that would take the next three hours to read. I wont do that to you. However, the purpose of starting this blog is to share my experiences of what I have learned through failure, through success, and through other people. My desire is to share my failures with you. I know sounds stupid but think about the entire Bible. The OT is full of real life idiots that if we are honest, are much different than ourselves. Then you flip over to the NT and we find dumb churches making dumb decisions and yet so many of the churches we are in look and function exactly the same way. Think about all the books on the shelf at a Christian book store and tell me if you see one that says "20 years of ministry and 20,000 mistakes" I doubt you will find one that highlights a Pastors mistakes. I wish a pastor would just write a book saying these are the dumb decisions I made so dont repeat them. I think that would be more beneficial than, this is what I did that worked for me... (which never seems to work in my situation)
SO, I want to let you in on all the mistakes that I have made in hopes that you will learn from them. I dont want you to make parents mad like I have by giving their kid too much soy sauce that made him puke his brains out for three hours. BY THE WAY, DONT DO THIS!
I want also to share some of the things that I have learned. I am super blessed to work for Brian Moore, who has taught me so much. I want to share those things with you as well.
I hope that you will comment and teach me the things that you have learned.
I hope that all this will be beneficial to all who read and continue to read!

Bill Hybels says this "We leaders need to keep files of such stories and review them often so that we dont inflict unnecessary pain on ourselves or on our churches by repeating mistakes of the past. Pain can be a very effective teacher, but only if we pay attention and learn the hard lessons." (Courageous Leadership)
This is the purpose summed up in two sentences of this blog.
I hope that you dont experience the pain first hand and learn from my mistakes.
