I have been able to spend some time read a few books over the last couple of weeks. So I thought I would give you a synopsis of those books.
The first book that I read completely was one called Glory Revealed by David Nasser
This was another devotional type book that Nasser wrote that is similar in format to Call to Die, and A Call to Grace. This was an great little read because each day gave example on how God's glory is revealed. When I finished the book I came to the realization that this book just touches on the fact that you can see God's glory everything. Every circumstance in life is an opportunity to see God's glory in some way. This has been really rocking my world especially in the situation that our country is in. The financial mess, is just a way to see God work in people's lives. Its a way to see God get ahold of people that believe life's fulfilment is through money. I cannot wait to see how God's glory is going to be shown through our new President. God is going to reveal himself some way some how, its just depends if we are looking for it or if we are caught up in the circumstance.
The second book that I have read completely is one entitled, How to Stay Christian in College, by J Budziszewski: I read this book not because Im college but because all the students in my ministry will most likely go to college. This book is a very philosophically minded. The author was a pronounced atheist but now love Jesus. His back ground really influences his writings and much of what he discusses are way in which to defend your faith. He doesn't go in great depth however he blow up different world views by just presenting a few questions. He also explains the importance of find community and also how to respond in class where Christianity is looked down upon. I was suggest reading this book in order to give you a couple of response that you can put into your back pocket in case you come across someone who claim to be atheist, agnostic, or anyone who doesn't believe in absolute truth.
The third book that I am currently reading is called IT by Craig Groschel.
I am only about half way done but so far this book has really rocked my thinking. His whole plot it hinged on the idea that churches and people need it. He doesn't give you a definition of what it is however everyone knows about it. If you are going into full time ministry I believe this book will serve you very well. It will challenge you in all the programs that you do. I challenge you to read this one.
I hope some of these books will come in handy in the future.

Hey man, I would agree that "IT" is one of the most challenging books I've ever read!
On another note, I'd like to hear more about "How to Stay Christian in College" a detailed synopsis would be nice :)
I guess there have been so many kids who graduate and walk away from the faith, any insight would be helpful! Not sure how the book goes, but if i has one cure all no one has ever thought about, spread the word! Maybe instead of giving graduates the Rick Warren, "Purpose Driven college student" I'll start giving them this book.
Well, sorry for being busy the last few weeks, I'm trying to plan this Upward stuff and it's killing me how bad the previous people were w/ organization and writing notes on stuff, but it's all good, it's coming together, I'll give ya a call this week sometime, I promise! love ya bud!
