Passion

Last night I had a new youth worker speak in youth group for us. When I say new I mean he has been in our youth ministry for about 3 weeks and has been at the church for about 4 weeks.
I know many of you would think Im crazy for letting a stranger get up and speak. You might say that I dont know him, I dont know what he believes, I dont know if he is even a good speaker...
All of those thoughts are legit concerns but I didnt really care.
So what was it that gave me a peace that would let this guy do this?
Unadulterated Passion for Jesus!
He called me the afternoon before he spoke and was asking a couple of questions because he was really nervous. But who could blame him. He was looking for some advice so this is what I told him.
Adam, if you get up there with the love and passion for Jesus that I know you have, you will captivate those students. You will have their undivided attention!
As the old saying goes, if you set yourself on fire people will come and watch you burn.
Adam spoke about the horrible, disgusting, and shameful cross. He gave the students a true look at what took place at the crucifixion.
His passion was pouring out within the first few minutes of him opening his mouth.
So the point is to ask, when you speak about the cross, when you speak to students or adults or to old people or to whoever, do you speak with a passion that burns so hot for what Jesus did on the cross? Are the people that your talking to captivated by what your saying? Do they see your love for Jesus in what your saying? How passionate are you when you speak?
Passion.... Do you have it?
