VERITAS

Well this last week has been an interesting week! SO Ill just begin with the good news and the prayer request. The church is growing which is awesome! When Brian got here we were running about 80 to 85 people! That was almost 2 years ago back in Dec of 2006 and now we are running this last month between 270 and 280! Thats 200 people in almost 2 years! God has been very very good to us and has blessed our hard work! Well, here is the dilemma. We have gone to two services because one will not fit all the people very well and our auditorium only seats a little over 300 so we had to go to multiple services. Currently the church sits on the corner of a very busy street here in Yorba Linda. We did a poll of all the people that attend here and we found that about 25 to 30% of the people that come found us because they saw a sign or just saw the building so we have an amazing location! The issue is we cannot continue to grow if our building doesnt get bigger. Our building cannot get bigger because the city says we need more parking spaces. California is insane about the rules and regulations, you pretty much have to have a permit to do anything. Ex. we wanted to put a big banner/sign up but we had to get the city's permission because it was so big! Pretty dumb huh! Anyway, within the last week there has been the opportunity to purchase land behind us and a house with a small amount of property to one side of us. This is the ONLY direction that we would be able to purchase land due to sitting on a corner of a street! So please be in prayer that we can work a deal with the owner because we have talked to him before and because of something that happened 20yrs ago, he has been pretty bitter with the church. We have a ok relationship with him now but he is still holding a small grudge and isnt working with us on the price of the land! So pray that things work out because of certain circumstances the deal will have to take place within a couple of weeks! This is honestly our only hope for expansion, unless we sell and move locations. None of the staff feel that we should move locations but we have to have the right price before we will purchase the land! Thanks for the prayers!
FYI- About 6 to 8 months ago the man wanted 750,000$ for less than 1/2 and acre so if that gives you an idea how expensive it is here! This is why we need him to negotiate with us!
