0 to 60 Church Growth Principles

I went to a small conference and learned alot about growing a church and things you can do to help grow your church. SOme of the things are new to alot of people and only a few people do it. I will share some of the thigns that our church does and let you know how these thigns are working. This will be a two blog post over the next few days.
#1 You are always communicating VISION.
--> Your budget, Your calander, Your Actions.--> These are all three ways of communicating VISION
#2Cast a VISION People Embrace
-->Present the Problem:::::: People need to feel the weight of the problem- without a weight to a problem there is no reason to solve it and solve it quickly.
-->Present the Solution::::::::::Dont propse a solution until the people really know and believe there is a problem.
-->Answer the Question Why Now?::::::::YOu must sell the urgency, its got to be NOW that the problem needs to be answered.
#3 Learn to see the Future
-->The ability to act without 100% certainity
-->Tha ability to listen to others.
--> The ability to learn from past mistakes
-->The ability to keep fear in check
--> The ability to take full responsibility::::: IF something works then you take the glory, if somethign fails dont pass the buck, own your mistakes
#4Create Speed
-->Learn everything you can from Everyone you can.
--> Get around people who are ahead of you
-->Read!
You will either hit the ground running or hit the ground.
#5Its all about Sunday!
--> Give your best time to Sunday
-->Give your best attention to Sunday
-->Give you best resources to Sunday.
Every Sunday is Super Bowl Sunday--- If there are major things that compete with Sunday MOrning then you need to get rid of them.
#6 Learn how Momentum WOrks: WHen you have momentum you can menuver much easier
4 Momentum Builders:
-->The leader is always Growing::: When mistakes are made, they are no as big when you have momentum
--The Church is Winning:::: Must know your goal so you know what the victory is.
--> New Believers are added::::: This is the best thing to get momentum moving in a church
-->Anticipation is building:::: Promoting new series and things that are coming up next can build momentum.
#7 Create Start Times:
Build up Big Events Early
-->The Calendar::: Use natural breaks in the calander to your advantage:::
#8Focus on what brings results:::
If your car doesnt run right, dont get a paint job.
If your church isnt growing dont repaint or get a prjector. We think that we have to do something cosmetically to make our church grow. Wrong! If your church isnt growing it has to do with soemthign eternally not outwardly.
#9 Utilize Shortcuts
--> Take adavantage of other peoples msitakes and victories.... dont recreat the wheel.
#10 Experiment with Innovation
3 Innovation Roadblocks:
--> What will other think about it::: We have an unhealthy fear of man, and we are scared about what they will think of me if I do something different.
-->Loss of control::::: You are going to have to make decisions that you dont know the outcome to
-->People will think I am a bad leader::::::: Fear will immobilize you if you let it. As a leader if you cannot keep fear in check you wont lead many people very far because you cant make tuff decisions.
This is the first 10 Principles from the conference.
